Okay, so 2013 (the year that finished like a month ago or whatever) was the first time in many years that there were official Wellington Comedy Awards.
I’m not sure if you’re aware, but that’s pretty awesome.
Here are the people who took home the various accolades for 2013:
Best Newcomer – Savanna Calton
Most Improved – Sanjay Parbhu
Best Marketing – Kent Lambert
Standout Performer – Eamonn Mara
Green Roomer Award – Ricky Threlfo
Best Show – Sam Smith (Samantics)
Best Show Concept – Ben Caldwell (One Night Stand)
Best MC – James Jobe
Best Comedian – James Nokise
A huge congratulations goes out to all of the winners! If you’re a comedy fan, you should definitely keep an eye out for all these great comics. They’ll no doubt be performing somewhere near you soon.
